Between WordPress.com and Blogspot, I think I shall introduce WordPress.com to him.  I feel the dashboard is much easier to use than Blogspot.  I know he won’t be meddling with the html and stuffs in future because basically what he wants is a place to share his thoughts online.

So, is there any other much easier blogging platform than Blogspot or WordPress.com?  And which do you think is easier to manage?  WordPress or Blogspot?

4) I don’t have the urge to change themes every few weeks because there are only so many themes to choose from. Still, free WordPress now rocks because there are so many themes. Unlike 3 years ago when they only have seven boring themes.

5) I can blog or not. No one cares.

6) It has uber cool stats built in.

Recently, I decided to keep all these free blogs which I signed up several years ago.  And you know what?  After I updated them for a while, all these blogs are indexed.  I am going to keep them pure and virginal and see how soon it can suck some green juice for me.  Just for the green juice, nothing else.

Moreover, I know they are going to chase me all over to ask questions and frankly, I am not comfortable with the attention when I go to church.  Otherwise, I also can foresee them asking to come to my messy house to learn.

I had a fall out with someone (who is not old but very demanding) who wanted to ask me to teach her how to use Dreamweaver.  I cannot entertain that request because I just cannot bear having someone over in my bedroom to do that.  My PCs are in my bedroom, you see.

In return, she reported to a higher authority and implied that by not sharing whatever skills I know, I am not being caring.  It pissed me off so much, I refused to have anything to do with teaching anyone anymore.  I just don’t need that kind of accussations.  I just don’t understand why people cannot emphatise that I have four kids to attend to and no maids to pick up after them.

However, someone who is in his 80s indicated his interest to start writing.  He was in the police force before and been through the emergency during the communist era.  I am sure he has a lot of things to share and wisdoms that we can learn from.

So, here I am sitting here contemplating how to coach him online.  I think to save all the hassles, I will open a WordPress.com trial blog and let him start testing out the panel.  Then, when he is familiar, I will let him sign up with his own account.

For this, I pray that the Lord will guide me and prompt me in the right direction.  I hope I have not bitten more than I can chew.

I must say that WordPress.com is almost like our own hosted WordPress.Org.  We can upload video, slideshows and photos.  The best it is free!

WordPress gives us 3GB of space and that a lot of space.  You can buy more by upgrading, you know?
